I don’t know how to type this because it is such an exciting story, so I am going to do my best not to rant here but also explain why this is one of the most important records in rock music period. Big words I know…but the story behind this band is sensational. I got approached by a fan of the label on Facebook (Randy Bass) he told me to check out Spiral Shades, I did. I quickly realized that this was a band that had a very cool sound and vibe on it. I did some digging to find out that this was not a “real” band in the sense that they don’t play shows, in fact….they have never been in the same room as one another. There are 2 members to this band, Phillip Peterson from Norway and Khushal Bhadra from Mumbai India. Yes…India. The 2 met on Philip’s youtube channel (make sure you check out his cover of Black Prism Satan’s Country) and decided to make a record. They passed files back and forth, Phillip playing guitar and bass, with Khushal programming drums and singing. Yes I said programmed drums, and If I didn’t tell you, I think you would have a very tough time figuring it out.
