One of the most elusive and sought-after recordings in underground psychedelia, this private pressing has haunted record collectors for over fifty years. Now, meticulously remastered by noted engineer Nick Townsend, the album is being made available to the world for the first time through both vinyl and streaming platforms.
“The Rise of Flood” stands as a pristine example of early-1970s New York underground rock—a raw, funky, fuzz-driven take on psychedelic acid rock that feels as vital and urgent today as it did in 1970. Featuring George Cabanting’s distinctive guitar work, the thick bass lines of Fred Covino, the precise rhythm section of Billy Carroll, and the soulful vocals and percussion of John T. Magazino, the album showcases songwriting craft and musicianship that belied its limited original pressing.
ABOUT THE REMASTER
The reissue features a newly remastered audio transfer from original LP, handled by engineer Nick Townsend, whose work on archival recordings has set industry standards for preserving the sonic character of vintage recordings. The new master breathes life into the album’s funky rhythms, crystalline guitar tones, and layered percussion while respecting the intentional rawness of the original production.
